therefore by Pythagoras theorem

hypotenuse ² = base²+perpendicular ²

subtituting the value we get

85²= 75²+ x² (let our perpendicular be x)

7225=5625+x²

7225-5625 = x² (substituting values to find x)

therefore x = √1600

that is x= 40 cm

Now subtituting the values we get

perimeter of rectangle= 2(l+b)

2(75+40)

2(115)
