Find the perimeter of the shaded part when an equilateral triangle of side 7cm is placed by the side of a rectangle of sides 40 cm X 7 cm

perimeter of the shaded part=perimeter of a rectangle + perimeter of equilateral triangle.

perimeter of a rectangle =2(l+b)

Let be the length=40 cm

Let be the breadth=7 cm

perimeter of a rectangle=2 (40 +7)

=2(47)

=94 cm

perimeter of equilateral triangle=7+7+7

=21 cm

perimeter of the shaded part=perimeter of a rectangle + perimeter of equilateral triangle.

perimeter of the shaded part=94+21

. . =115 cm.

Therefore,perimeter of the shaded part is 115 cm.
