the perpendicular distance from the X axis is the distance between the points (6,-4) and (6,0)

(as (6,0) is a point on the X axis )and make a perpendicular distance with the given point....

the distance is....

 = \sqrt{(6 - 6) {}^{2} + ( - 4 - 0) {}^{2} {}^{2} } \\ = \sqrt{4 {}^{2} } \\ = 4 \: \: unit
