  • v=0.9c

To find:- Group and Phase velocity

Solution:-

Phase velocity relation can be given as:-

vp=c^2/v

where v is the electron velocity and c is the speed of light.

The group velocity relation can be given by the formula:-

vg=v

where v is the same electron velocity

Substitute v=0.9c in the below equations (given)

For Phase velocity:-

vp= c^2/v = c^2/0.9c

vp = 1.1c

For Group Velocity:-

vg= v =0.9c

The group and phase velocities are 0.9c and 1.1c respectively.
