it's a Mendel's dihybrid experiment where two characters are considering at one time.


here we have tall plant with violet flowers and short plant with white flowers.


TALL character denoted by T

short character as t

PURPLE character as P

white character as p


1) TTPP. cross ttpp


Result TtPp. (F1 generation)


then self pollination of F1 generation




phenotypic ratio will be 9:3:3:1.


the 9 represents the proportion of individuals displaying both dominant traits


the first 3 represents the individuals displaying the first dominant trait and the second recessive trait


the second 3 represents those displaying the first recessive trait and second dominant trait


the 1 represents the homozygous, displaying both recessive traits.
