Answer:
the point of intersection of the lines is the solution of the simultaneous equations:
2x+3y=10………(i)
3x+2y=5 ……….(ii)
using elimination method, we could express the value of x in terms of y and whole number. using equation (i)
x=-(3/2)y+10……(iii)
using the value of x according to equation (iii)
-3(3/2)y+2y=5….(iv)
solving (iv)
-4.5y+2y=5….(v)
-2.5y=5, solving for y
you get y=-2.5
now replace y in either equation (i) or (ii)
2x+3(-2.5)=10……(vi)
2x=10+7.5…………(vii)
2x=17.5…………….(viii)
x therefore is equal to 8.75.
the line would intersect at (8.75, -2.5)
