Question

Find the point of intersection of line - 3 x + 7 Y = 3 with x axis

Basics about Co-ordinate Geomentry

In a bracket denoting the numbers to be marked, the first number stand on 'x' and the second number stands on 'y'.

Ex: (0 , 9)

Here, 0 stands on 'x' and 9 stand on 'y'

Answer

Let us take y = 0.

Substituting 'y' in the equation.

- 3x + 7y = 3

-3x + 7(0) = 3

-3x + 0 = 3

x = \mathsf{\frac{3}{-3}}

x = -1

We know that in a bracket x and y lie in the following position.

(x , y)

We have taken 'y' to be 0

And, we have found out the value of 'x'

⇒ (-1, 0)

Hence, the line -3x + 7y = 3 intersects the 'X' axis at -1
