Concept
Point of intersection means the point where both the lines meet.

Methods for finding point of intersection between two lines.

1) Equation Solving Method

2) Graph Method

Given

1) Line 1 : x + y = 6

2) Line 2 : Y - axis

Find

Point of intersection between them

Solution

As we know that

At Y-axis, points are ( 0,y)

means x coordinate is 0 on y - axis

x = 0

Putting value of x = 0 in x + y = 6

We get

0 + y = 6

y = 6

Point of intersection of line x + y = 6 and y - axis is (0, 6).
