by distance formula
(√ x2- x1)² + (√ y2 - y1)² =(√x2-x1)² +(√y2-y1)²

Answer: x=-7

Step-by-step explanation:

X is equidistant from a(2,-5) and b(-2,9) so

Xa2 = xb2. (By distant formula)

So,

(X-2)2 + (5)2 = (x+2)2 + (0+9)2

X2-4x+4 +25 = x2+4x+4+81

-4x-4x+25-81 = 0. (taking left hand side)

-8x-56= 0

-8x = 56

X.= -7
