Find the point on the x-axis which is equidistant from ( 2,-5) and (-2 ,9) .​

Answer:

since it is given that point lies on x-axis so the coordinates are(X, 0)

Now,

D1=D2

√(X2-X1) ² + (Y2-Y1) ² = √(X2-x1)²+(Y2-Y1) ²

now putting X2=2 and X1 = X , Y2 =-5 and Y1= 0 in D1

and in D2 put x2=-2& X1=X, y2=9 and Y1=0

now replace the values and solve it.
