let the points be a(5,2) and b(3,2)

and the point which is equidistant from the points a and b be c

and point be (x, y)

since c is the equidistant from a and b

therefore c is the mid point

therefore,

x=x1+x2/2 and y=y1+y2/2

x1=5 ,x2=3 and y1=2,y2=2

x=5+3/2 and y=2+2/2

x=8/2 and y=4/2

x=4 and y=2

therefore c(x,y)=(4,2)

the point on y-axis which is equidistant from the point (5,2) and (3,2) is (4,2)

hope it will help you......
