by solving the equations simultaneously .

4x + y = 8................................(1)
3x + 4y = 6.............................(2)

[multiplying equation no.(1) by 4]

16x + 4y = 32.............................(3)

[Subtracting equation no.(3) from (2)

3x + 4y = 6
16x + 4y = 32

-13x = -26
13x = 26
x = 26/13
x = 2

Substitute,
x = 2 in equation no. (1)

4x + y = 8

4(2) + y = 8
8 + y = 8
y = 0

Solution:

x = 2 \:  \: . \:  \: y = 0
