Step-by-step explanation:

LHL:

 \lim _{x \rarr 1 ^{ - } }f(x) = \lim _{h \rarr 0 }f(1 - h) = \lim _{h\rarr 0 }((1 - h)^{10} - 1) \\

 =1 - 1 = 0

RHL:

\lim _{x \rarr 1^{ + } }f(x) = \lim _{h \rarr 0 }f(1 + h) = \lim _{h \rarr 0 } {(1 + h)}^{2} = 1 \\

Since, RHL ≠ LHL,

So, f(x) is discontinuous at x = 1
