Step-by-step explanation:

Given :- A(1,6) , B(5,2) , C(12,9) , D(8,13)

By Distance Formula :-

AB = root [ ( 5-1)^2 + (2-6)^2 ] = root [ 4^2 + (-4)^2]

= root ( 16 + 16)

= root32

BC = root [ ( 12 -5)^2 + (9-2)^2] = root(49 + 49)

= root 98

CD = root [ ( 12 -8)^2 + (9-13)^2 ] = root(16 + 16)

= root32

DA = root [ ( 1-8)^2 + (6-13)^2 ] = root ( 49 + 49)

= root98

Diagonal AC = root [ (12-9)^2 + (9-6)^2] = root(9 + 9) = root18

Diagonal BD = root [ (8-5)^2 + (13-2)^2 ] = root(9+121) = root130

Because,opposite pair of sides are equal but diagonals are not equal ,therefore,the polygon is 'PARALLELOGRAM .'
