The initial population is 2 lakh, and it increases by 2% per annum.

So, the final population will be:

2 lakh+8% of 2 lakh

8/100*200000=16000

So the population of the town after 4 years will be:2 lakh+16000=216000 people

P. S:If the increase in the population is compounded, then the answer will have decimals as well, which is not possible for people, unless you cut them….
