Answer:

x = √(53/2)

Solution:

Given: (x² - 9) / (5 + x²) = 5/9

To find: +ve value of x

We have ;

(x² - 9) / (5 + x²) = 5/9

On cross-multiplication , we get ;

=> 9(x² - 9) = 5(x² + 5)

=> 9x² - 81 = 5x² + 25

=> 9x² - 5x² = 25 + 81

=> 4x² = 106

=> x² = 106/4

=> x² = 53/2

=> x = ± √(53/2)

But according to the question , we need just +ve value of x .

Thus,

The appropriate value of x is √(53/2).

Hence,

x = (53/2)
