We know that, potential difference remains constant in parallel connection.

Hence, pd across upper part = 28V

Eq. capacitance of upper part :

⇒ 1/Cs = 1/C₁ + 1/C₂

⇒ 1/Cs = 1/6 + 1/8

⇒ 1/Cs = (8+6)/48 = 14/48

Cs = 48/14 uF

Net charge flow in upper part :

⇒ Q = Cs × V

⇒ Q = 48/14 × 28

⇒ Q = 48 × 2

Q = 96 uC

Charge on each capacitor remains same in series connection.

Therefore, Q₁ = Q₂ = Q = 96 uC

pd across C₁ :

⇒ V₁ = Q/C₁

⇒ V₁ = 96/6

V₁ = 16V

◈ Potential at point A :

➝ V(A) = 28 - V₁

➝ V(A) = 28 - 16

V(A) = 12V
