Find the potential energy of a body of mass 50 kg. If it is lifted to a height of 3m. Now this body is allowed to fall freely, then find the kinetic energy of the body when it is exactly half way. (g = 10m/s²)

Given:-

m=50kg , it's lifted up so we got height (h)=3m,g=10m/s²

We know that potential energy (u)=mgh

U= 50×10×3

U= 1500j

We also know that when the object is held half way down it's potential energy becomes kinetic energy/2.

i.e. potential energy of the object=kinetic energy/2

Therefore now we can substitute the values to the equation given above to get the value of kinetic energy of the body.

U=1500/2=750J

Hence, kinetic energy at that moment becomes 750J.
