Explanation:

1)the resistors 4 ohms, 4 ohms &2 ohms are in series.they can be replaced by single 10 ohms resistor(4+4+2=10).

2)now this is in parallel with 10 ohms resistor which can be replaced by 5 ohm resistor(((10×10)÷(10+10))=5 )

3)now 5 ohm,3 ohm &2 ohm are in series. (5+3+2=10).

4)now 10 ohm is in parallel with above obtained 10 ohm.repeat step 2.now we get 5 ohm.

5)5 ohm series with another 5 ohm gives 10 ohms

6)apply kirchoff voltage law in loop.we get loop current as 2 amps

7)power dissipated is ((i^2)×R)=2×2×10=40 watts
