Given: cosec x=−2</p><p></p><p>⇒sinx1=−2</p><p></p><p>⇒sinx=−21</p><p></p><p>we know that sin30o=−21</p><p></p><p>But we need negative value of sinx, sin is negative in III &amp; IV quadrant.</p><p></p><p>Value in III quadrant =180o+30o=210o</p><p></p><p>Value in IV quadrant =360o−30o=330o</p><p></p><p>so  principal solutions are</p><p></p><p>x=210o=67π</p><p></p><p>x=330o=330o×180π=611π</p><p></p><p>General solution:</p><p></p><p>Let  sinx=siny ..... (1)</p><p></p><p>sinx=−21 ......... (2)</p><p></p><p>from (1) &amp; (2)</p><p></p><p>siny=−1/2</p><p></p><p>siny=sin67π</p><p></p><p>⇒y=67π</p><p></p><p>∴sinx=siny</p><p></p><p>General solution is </p><p></p><p>x=nπ+(−1)ny,n∈I</p><p></p><p>x=nπ+(−1)n(67π),n∈I</p><p></p><p>
