Answer:

An ordinary year has 365 days.

i.e 52 weeks and 1 extra day.

52 weeks will have 52 sundays.

The sample space for one extra day is

S={MONDAY,TUESDAY,WEDNESDAY,THURSDAY,

FRIDAY,SATURDAY,SUNDAY}

n(s) = 7

Let A be the event that the extra day is a sunday

n(A)= 1

P(A)= n(A)÷n(S)

=1÷7

Therefore the probablity that an ordinary year has 53 sundays is 1÷7.
