Answer:

i) Probability of getting an ace = 1/13

ii) Probability of getting a red colour card = 1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

Given Problem

Find the probability of picking following cards from a well shuffled deck of 52 playing card

Total number of cards  = 52

Total number of out come n(s) = 52

(i) number of ace in deck of 52 playing cards = 2

let E be the event of getting an ace

The probability of getting an ace

= number of favorable outcomes/total number of outcomes

  = n(E)/ n(S)

  = 4/52 = 1/13

ii) number of red colour cards = 26

let C be the even of getting a red colour card

The probability of getting a red colour card

= number of favorable out comes / total number of outcomes

   = n(C) / n(S)

   = 26/52  = 1/2
