Hey Curious

(a-6)(a-2) = a²-2a-6a+12

= a²-8a+12 = 0

= a²-6a-2a+12 = 0

= a(a-6)-2(a-6) = 0

= (a-2) (a-6) = 0

= a = +2 ; a = +6

(a - 6) (a - 2)

__________ [ GIVEN ]

• We have to find the product of (a - 6) (a - 2)

____________________________

→ (a - 6) (a - 2)

This is the given equation. To find products. First we have to multiply a with (a - 2) then (-6) with (a - 2)

Product means we have to find what will came after multiplying.

i.e.

→ a(a - 2) -6(a - 2)

Remember :

  • (-) (+) = -

  • (+) (-) = -

  • (-) (-) = +

  • (+) (+) = +

→ a² - 2a - 6a + 12

- 8a + 12

The above equation in the from ax² + bx + c

So, we can also write like that..

→ a² - 6a - 2a + 12 = 0

→ a(a - 6) -2(a - 6) = 0

→ (a - 2) (a - 6) = 0

→ a = 2, 6

______________________________

2 and 6 are the products of (a - 6) (a - 2).
