The question is to find the product of  3 - 2a and  4 + a

   (3 - 2a) (4 + a) = 12 + 3a - 8a - 2a^2

                           = 12 -5a - 2a^2

                           = -2a^2 - 5a + 12

                           = -(2a^2 + 5a -12)
