Find the Pythagorean triplet whose one number is 10
Answers
Answer:
10,26 & 23
Step-by-step explanation:
2m= 10
m= 5
so
m^2+1=26
and other no is
m^2-1= 23
To Find:
The Pythagorean triplet whose one number is 10
Solution :
As we know, Pythagorean triplet is a set of three numbers, in which , The two smaller number square makes the sqaure of bigger number as,
if, A,B and C are three elements of Pythagorean triplet and A>B and , A>C , then
A² = B²+C²
Now, coming Back to the question :
Let's take that , the biggest number in triplet is 10 so, :
10² = B²+C²
or, 100 = B²+C²
Now, if we take a look on the squares of number from 1 to 9 , these are :
- 1² = 1
- 2² = 4
- 3² = 9
- 4² = 16
- 5² = 25
- 6² = 36
- 7² = 49
- 8² = 64
- 9² = 81
so, as we can see only two pair make a sum divisible by 10 as,
(4,16);(36,64)
- 4+16 = 20
- 64+36 = 100
but, only the pair, 36 and 64 can make a sum of hundred .
So, 100 = 36+64
or, 10² = 6²+8²
so, the triplet is, 6,8, and 10
