Find the quadratic equation whose one root is 3 and the sum of roots is 0.

Answer:

Let one root be α and other be β

By given condition,

α = √3

α + β = 0

∴ β = -√3

∴ Quadratic equation = k[ x² - (α + β)x + αβ]

                                     = k[ x² - 0x -3]

                                     = k[ x² -3] = 0

∴ Quadratic equation = k[ x² -3] = 0 where k is constant.
