Answer:

1st method :

sum of roots = -1/4 + 1/4 = 0 = 0/16 = -b/a

Product of roots = -1/4 * 1/4 = -1/16 = c/a

a = 16, b = -0, c = -1

therefore, quadratic equation is 16x² - 0x - 1 or 16x² - 1

2nd Method:

sum of roots = -1/4 + 1/4 = 0 = 0/16 = -b/a

Product of roots = -1/4 * 1/4 = -1/16 = c/a

quadratic equation = x² + (- sum of roots) +

(products of roots) = 0

= x² + (- 0/16)x + (-1/16) = 0

= x² - 0x/16 - 1/16 = 0

= 16x²/16 - 0x/16 - 1/16 = 0

= 1/16 ( 16x² - 0x -1 ) = 0

= 16x² - 0x - 1 = 0

OR

= 16x² -1 = 0
