2) For the equation 2x+cy=8.2x+cy=8 the values of x and y should be equal, i.e, x=y. So putting x=y in the equation, we get

2y+cy=8.2y+cy=8

cy=8−2ycy=8−2y

c=8y−2c=8y−2

So c must be equal to either be equal to 8y−28y−2 or

8x−28x−2 in order to always have y equal to x in the equation.
