p(-1)= -3–2+1 +4 = 0. -1 is a root p(x). Thus p(x) = (x + 1)(3x^2 -5x + 4). Regarding the other 2 roots, since the discriminant of the quadratic is (25 -48) = -23 is negative the two roots are complex. They are: (-5 +/- i sqrt(23))/3
