the range is (-1,1)

f(x)=x−3∣x−3∣

x−3=0 (Denominator cannot be zero)

⇒x=3

∴ Domain: R−{3}

f(x)=⎩⎪⎪⎨⎪⎪⎧(x−3)(x−3)=1;−x−3(x−3)=1;x>3x<3

∴f(x)={1;−1;x>3x<3

∴Range ={−1,1}.
