Find the rate of discount being given on a ceiling fan whose selling price is ₹1175 after allowing a discount of ₹75 on its marked price.

initial selling price is 1175+75 = 1250 rupees

discount is 75 rupees

so 1250x% = 75
1250x/100 = 75
1250x = 7500
x = 7500/1250
x = 6%
discount 6% on 1250 is 75
