Answer:

first find cost of one pen and cost of a pencil

cost of one pen = 15÷12 =1.25

cost of one pencil = 16÷20=0.8

now, find their ratio= 0.8/1.25

= 16/25

= 16:25

Answer :-

Ratio of pencil and ball pen is 16:25

_______________________________

Explanation :-

\bold{\sf{Given:-}}

  • Cost of pencil is Rs. 16 per score.
  • Cost of ball pen is Rs. 15 per dozen.

\bold{\sf{Find:-}}

  • Ratio between cost of pencil to the cost of ball pen.

\bold{\sf{Solution:-}}

Price of pencil per score is Rs. 16.

1 score = 20 units.

Let price of one pencil be Rs. x.

\implies\:x\:=\:\dfrac{16}{20}

\implies\:x\:=\:Rs.\:0.8

Also, let rate of one ball pen be Rs. y.

Price of ball pen per dozen is Rs. 15.

1 dozen pen = 12 pen.

\implies\:y\:=\:\dfrac{15}{12}

\implies\:y\:=\:Rs.\:1.25

We have to find the ratio between pencil and ball pen.

From above calculations cost of one pen per score is Rs. 0.8 and cost of one ball pen per dozen is Rs. 1.25.

\Rightarrow\:\sf\frac{Cost\:of\:pencil \:per\:score}{Cost\:of\:ball\:pen\:per\:dozen}\:=\:\frac{0.8}{1.25}

\Rightarrow\:\sf\frac{Cost\:of\:pencil \:per\:score}{Cost\:of\:ball\:pen\:per\:dozen}\:=\:\frac{800}{1250}

\Rightarrow\:\sf\frac{Cost\:of\:pencil \:per\:score}{Cost\:of\:ball\:pen\:per\:dozen}\:=\:\frac{16}{25}
