Find the ratio by mass of the elements present in the molecule of hydrogen sulphide (H2S). Given that, atomic mass S = 32, H = 1.​

Given: S = 32, H = 1, molecular weight of H₂S = 34 g

We know that,

% of element = atomicity × atomic weight × 100/ Total molecular weight

For Hydrogen = 2 × 1 × 100/34

                         = 5.88 %

For Sulphur = 1 × 32 × 100/34

                     = 94.12 %

Ratio of H and S will be 5.88 : 94.12
