using section formula =

p(x.y) = ( \frac{mx2 - nx1}{m + n} . \frac{my2 - ny1}{m + n} )

i have used . instead of ,

given : p(-1,-1) ; A(-5,3) ; B(5,-7)

p( - 1. - 1) = ( \frac{m(  +  5) - n( - 5)}{m + n} . \frac{m( - 7) - n(3)}{m + n} ) \\  = ( \frac{5m + 5n}{m + n} . \frac{ - 7m - 3n}{m + n} )

!!

 - 1 =  \frac{5m + 5n}{m + n}  \\  - m - n = 5m + 5n \\  - n - 5n = 5m + m \\  - 6n = 6m \\  - n = m \\   \frac{ - 1}{1}  =  \frac{m}{n}

 - 1 =  \frac{ - 7m - 3n}{m + n}  \\  - m - n =  - 7m - 3n \\  - m + 7m =  - 3n + n \\ 6m = 2n \\  \frac{m}{n }  =  \frac{2}{6 }  \\   \frac{m}{n }  =  \frac{1}{3}

so !! m:n = 1:3

your question might be wrong!! check it !!!

you should get the same answer for both x and y substitution !!!

(hope it helps you!! Mark as brainliest if you are satisfied LoL!!!!)
