the coordinates of point on y axis are (0,y)

let the ratio be. k:1

using section formula

0=k×2+1×3/k+1

0=2k+3

2k=-3

k=3/2 therefore ratio is 3:2

using the section formula, if a piont (x,y) divides the line joining the pionts (x.y)and (X2,Y2)in tge ratio m:n

then (X1,Y1)=(3,5)and (X2,Y2)

(-4,2) in the section formula ,we get the piont

=4m+ 3n =0

4m =3n or Min =3:4
