Answer:

2 : 3 externally

Step-by-step explanation:

Hi,

Let the points be A (2, 4, 5) and B(3, 5, -4).

Given that line joining AB is divided by xz plane.

Let the ratio  in which xz plane divided line AB be λ : 1

Using internal sectional formula, the point which divides AB in the ratio

λ : 1 will be (3λ + 2/λ + 1, 5λ + 4/λ + 1, -4λ + 5/λ + 1)

But since it is divided by yz plane, Any point on yz plane will have its x-

coordinate 0

=> 3λ + 2/λ + 1 = 0

3λ + 2 = 0

or

λ = -2/3

- sign indicates it is external division.

Hence, yz divided the line joining A and B in the ratio 2:3 externally.

Hope, it helps !
