Find the ratio in which line joining the points (2, -6) and (8, 4) is divided by the x -axis. Also find the coordinates of the point of division.

By using section formula,

we get =((7)(4) + 2( -10) /9 ,7(7) +2(11) /9)

=(28 - 10 /9, -49 +22 / 9)

=(18/9, -27 /9)

=(2,-3)
