Find the ratio in which p(4, m) divides the line segment joining the points a(2, 3) and b(6, 3). Hence find m.

(x, y) = {  [x1 * m2 + x2 * m1] / m1+m2   ,   [y1 * m2 + y2 * m1] / m1 + m2  }

p(4, m) = { 6k + 2 / k+1 ,  3k + 3 / k+1 }               -------- I

so, m = (3k+ 3) /( K+1)

     m  = 3

from I :

          4 = (6k + 2)/(k+1)

          4k + 4 = 6k + 2          

          2k = 2

          k = 1  

thus, ratio = 1:1       & m = 3
