Find the ratio in which the line segment joining points P(-3,-4) and Q( 1,-2) is divided by y-axis?

Given P(-3,-4) & (1,-2)

Let coordinate on y-axis be T(0,y)

x = m1 × x2 + m2 × x1 / m1 + m2

0 = m1 × 1 + m2 × -3 / m1 + m2

= m1 - 3m2 / m1 + m2

0(m1 + m2) = m1 - 3m2

0 = m1 - 3m2

3m2 = m1

3/1 = m1/m2

m1 : m2 = 3 : 1
