Let us assume that the line AB is divide by x axis in the ratio of k : 1

So the points will be \left(\frac{5 k+3}{k+1}\right),\left(\frac{3 k-6}{k+1}\right)

As the point lies on x axis,  

\frac{(3 k-6)}{(k+1)}=0

(3 k-6)=0 \times(k+1)

(3 k-6)=0

3 k=6

k=\frac{6}{3}

k=2

Hence the ratio in which the line segment joining the given points is 2:1
