Find the ratio in which the point (11, 15) divides the line segment joining the points (15, 5)ans (9, 20)

Let the two points (15, 5) and (9, 20) are divided in the ratio k : 1 by point P(11, 15)

Using Section formula we get,

x = m2x1 + m1x2 divided by m1 + m2

11   =>   1(15) + k(9) divided by k+1

    =>  11+11k = 15+5k

    => k = 2

The ratio = 1:2
