Let the ratio be k:1

∴5=

k+1

9k+3

=5k+5=9k+3

∴4k=2

⇒k=

2

1

∴(5,4,−6) divides A(3,2,−4) & B(9,8,−10) in the ratio 1:2 finally.

Let Q(x,y,z) divide A:B in the ratio 1:2 externally.

x=

−1

9−6

=−3

y=

−1

8−4

=−4

z=

−1

−10+8

=2

∴ The harmonic conjugate of P is (−3,−4,2
