let the ratio be k:1
y = 2
y = m1 y2+ m2y1/ m1 + m2
2= k× -3 + 1× 5 / k + 1
2k + 2 = -3k + 5
2k + 3k = 5- 2
5 k = 3
k = 3/5
therefore ratio = k: 1 which is = 3/5 : 1 = 3:5
x= m1 x2 + m2 x1 / k+1
x= 3× 4 + 5 × 12 / 8
x = 12 +60 /8
= 72/8
= 9
y = 2
y = m1 y2+ m2y1/ m1 + m2
2= k× -3 + 1× 5 / k + 1
2k + 2 = -3k + 5
2k + 3k = 5- 2
5 k = 3
k = 3/5
therefore ratio = k: 1 which is = 3/5 : 1 = 3:5
x= m1 x2 + m2 x1 / k+1
x= 3× 4 + 5 × 12 / 8
x = 12 +60 /8
= 72/8
= 9
