y1=-5  y2=5

let the line is divided in the ratio k:1 and the point at x axis be(x,0)

by section formula,

y=(my2+ny1)/m+n

0=(5k-5)/k+1

5k-5=0

k=1

hence the line is divided in the ratio 1:1 i.e. at its midpoint
