we have to find the ratio of 40 paise to rupees 3
as the units of both the numbers are not same. We must change the units first.
as we know,
Rs 1 = 100 paise
So Rs 3 = 3×100 = 300 paise
[NOTE : you can change the paise to Rs too but it would be little bit complicated, So it's better to convert the Rs to paise.]

so to find the ratio we must find the fraction first.

fraction = 40 paise/ Rs 3
= 40/300
= 4/30
= 2/15

So the ratio is 2:15
