Answer:

 \frac{2x - y}{2x + 4y}  =  \frac{1}{4}

 \frac{2x - y}{x + 2y}  =  \frac{1}{2}

so Let 2x - y = k......(i)

&. x + 2y = 2k .......(ii)

Apply (i) ×2 + (ii), we get

4x + x = 2k + 2k

5x = 4k \:  \: i.e \:  \: x =  \frac{4}{5} k

putting x in (i),

2 \times  \frac{4}{5} k - y = k

y =  \frac{8}{5} k - k =  \frac{3}{5} k

putting x,y in

 \frac{4x - 5y}{5x + 2y}  =  \frac{4 \times  \frac{4}{5}k - 5 \times  \frac{3}{5} k }{5 \times  \frac{4}{5}k  + 2 \times  \frac{3}{5}k  }  =  \frac{1}{26}
