Hey mate

Here is the answer :

First of all, to convert anything to ratio, we first have to ensure that both the things are in the same unit. Here, in some question, the unit is not same, so we will first make both the units same & then convert it into the simplest form.

And we will also have to keep in mind that ratio has no unit.

1. 2.1 m to 1.2 m

=> 2.1/1.2

=> 0.7/0.4

=> 0.7:0.4As we know that,

1 m = 100 cm . Thus,

=> 1.04 m = 104 cm

=> 91/104

=> 7/8

=> 7:8

3. 3.5kg to 250 g

As we know that,

1 kg = 1000 g. Thus,

3.35 kg = 3350 g

=> 3350/250

=> 335/25

=> 67/5

=> 67:5

4. 60 paise to 4 rupeesAs we know that,

1 100 p. Thus

=> 60/400

=> 3/20

=> 3:20

5. 1 min to 15 sec

As we know that,

1 min 60 sec. Thus,

60/15

=> 4/1

=> 4:1

6. 15mm to 2 cm

As we know that,

1 cm = 10 mm. Thus,

2 cm 20 mm

=> 15/20

=> 3/4

=> 3:4

Answer:

(i) 2.1 m : 1.2 m

= 2.1/ 1.2

= 21/12 × 10/10

= 7 : 4

(ii) 91 cm : 1.04mm or (1.04 × 100) cm = 104 cm [As 1 m = 100 cm]

= 91 cm : 104 cm

= 91/104

= 7 : 8

(iii) 3.5 kg : 250 gm or (3.5 × 1000) gm : 250 gm [As 1 kg = 1000 gm]

= 3500 gm: 250 gm

= 3500/250

= 14/1

= 14 : 1

(iv) 60 paise : 4 rupees or 60 paise : (4 × 100) paise [As 1 Rs = 100 paise]

= 60 paise : 400 paise

= 60/400

= 6/40

= 3/20

= 3 : 20

(v) 1 minute : 15 seconds or 60 seconds : 15 seconds [As 1 minute = 60 seconds]

= 60 : 15

= 60/15

= 4/1

= 4 : 1

(vi) 15 mm : 20 cm or 15 mm : (20 × 10) mm [As 1 cm = 10 mm]

= 15 mm : 200 mm

= 15/200

= 3/40

= 3 : 40
