PE =mgh
PE 1=m1gh
PE 2=m2gh
PE 1/PE 2=m1gh/m2gh
PE 1/PE 2=m1/m2
given m1/m2=1/2
therefore PE 1/PE 2=1/2
PE 1=m1gh
PE 2=m2gh
PE 1/PE 2=m1gh/m2gh
PE 1/PE 2=m1/m2
given m1/m2=1/2
therefore PE 1/PE 2=1/2

Potential energy = mgh
For same height h
Potential energy ∝ mass
PE₁ : PE₂ = m₁ : m₂ = 1 : 2
Answer is 1 : 2 if mass of second object is two times that of first one.
