Formula = Rn = n²/z a0 where a0 = 52.9pm

Radius of 2nd shell = 2²/1×52.9 = 4 × 52.9pm....(i)

Radius of 3rd shell = 3²/1×52.9 = 9 × 52.9pm.......(ii)

Ratio = radius of 2nd shell ÷ radius of 3rd shell

4 ×52.9/9× 52.9 = 4/9 = 4:9.
