Answer:

a) Speed of a cycle 15 km per hour to the speed of scooter 30 km per hour.

(b) 50 m to 10 km

(c) 50 paise to Rs.5

Solution:

(a) Speed of cycle = 15 km/hr

Speed of scooter = 30 km/hr

Hence ratio of speed of cycle to that of scooter = 15 : 30 = \frac{15}{30}=\frac{1}{2}=1:2

30

15

=

2

1

=1:2

(ii) \because1\ km\ =\ 1000\ m∵1 km = 1000 m

\therefore10\ km=10\times1000=10000m∴10 km=10×1000=10000m

\therefore Ratio=\frac{5m}{10000m}=\frac{1}{2000}=1:2000∴Ratio=

10000m

5m

=

2000

1

=1:2000

(c) \because1=100\ paise∵1=100 paise

\therefore5=5\times100=500∴5=5×100=500 paise

Hence Ratio = \frac{50\ paise}{500\ paise}=\frac{1}{10}=1:10

500 paise

50 paise

=1:10
